FEBRUARY 2018 THEME:
THE GREATEST MICHAELS OF ALL TIME

My Michael has been begging to design a theme for Adorable Monthly since we started this subscription box back in June 2017. My Valentine’s Day gift to him, is an entire box dedicated to the greatest Michaels of all time!

When we tossed this idea around, we laughed, but then, we strangely kept going with the ideas and heaven help us, it actually turned out to be quite an awesome line up.

Do you have a Michael in your life? OF COURSE, YOU DO. Everybody does. For me,
I have cousins named Michael, a grandfather named Michael, an Uncle Michael, countless Michael friends and yes, now even a husband named Michael. Even growing up with 50 some odd kids in my tiny little town, there was a Michael in every grade school classroom.

For this Michael inspired box, you’ll find mainly pop figures that have shaped the past 30+ years with their skills, moves, laughter and more!

In my life I didn’t know anyone named Michael but when I was in junior school it was the name of my school house and a lot of good memories come from that house

Best Michael story I can tell about, grade 7-9; Michael and I were our best friends tag alongs. They always brought us on dates, pretty sure him and I had more fun goofing off while they were always awkward with each other.

My favorite Michael story is watching my brother get his butter bars by becoming an officer in the Marine Corps.

Growing up I always played sports and basketball was one of my favourites. So naturally Michael Jordan is one of the greats for me. It was so amazing watching his career. Did you know he was in Sports Ilustrated cover 50 time?

My elementary school best friend had an older brother named Michael and boy was I in love with him! Other than that…I don’t think I know any other Michaels, which seems unlikely…

Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails is actually Michael Trent Reznor, and he majorly transformed my life!

I had a student a few years ago named Michael who always kept me on my toes. One memory that comes to mind was when he got a tiny paper cut on his finger and spent a good five minutes screaming blood and looking at the cut before we asked him if he needed a band-aid and he said yes.

I don’t really have any Michael’s in my life now, but once upon a time in elementary school I had a friend named Michael who lived down the street from me. We were good friends and I’d even play with his little sister sometimes with my other neighborhood friend and her sister. But… One day Michael tried to change our friendship and asked me out… It was 5th or 6th grade. I wasn’t exactly into boys yet… So I told him no. And think, at the time I broke poor Michael’s heart… But given a little time. We were friends again, but maybe not as good of friends as we once were.

My first memory of a Michael was when I was a little child, spending my summer vacations at my village and the neighbour had a grandson from the States, that was around my age and we used to hang out together, even though I didn’t know English. That child’s name was Michael and he was my first US friend :)

I used to know a Michael in school. He was the class clown and also a goof ball. I remember in elementary school he would be taken down to the principal office every other day. He always tried to prank the teacher or the other students. When we got to high school I believe he moved away.

Okay so I don’t live in a country where you’ll meet any michaels and so I’ve never known any Michael personally, but I do know a fictional Michael who was sorta the mean boy of his school
He was part of a book I read when I was 10 which was ‘Diary of Amos Lee’ and I thoroughly enjoyed that book mainly because of Michael (because I just couldn’t get enough of the protagonist’s comebacks to Michael’s bullying?) and I mean that was one of the books that have made me want to read more and more! So today I own many YA books and my love for books has never been stronger ! So that book plays a very important role since it helped build my love for books

Surprisingly enough, I don’t have any Michaels close to me other than the boyfriends dad. But even though he’s fictional, Michael Scott is quite a guy

Such a different theme! My favorite Michael is my brother but I wouldn’t want a candle scented like him. ?

I cannot stop thinking of what Michaels you chose and what the scents could be! I know so many Michaels that I had to resort to calling them all by their last name to keep them straight. Yelling, “Mike” at a party is the equivalent to yelling, “Mom” in a grocery store. It’s beautiful that your cleverness was motivated by love!

I was a Michael Jackson OBSESSED toddler. My Mom bought me the Thriller album on tape. I insisted on taking it to daycare every single day in my Teddy Ruxpin, you know the one where you put one of his story books on tape in the cassette player shoved into the bear’s back, and his eyes and mouthed moved while it played. I think I may have reached peak 80’s with that move!

I met Michael Strahan st my favorite ice cream shop back home when i was a kid – my family were/are huge giants fans so my dad was stoked and kept trying to get me to go talk to him. I ended up going over and got his autograph on the waitress’s pad haha

My 8 year old would be super sad if I didn’t say Michael Jackson. He is his obsession right now. Even got the Black fedora for Christmas so he can dress up like him. :)

I know a couple Michael’s, but the closest one would have to be my cousin. He is the fourth, and last, one to come from either my mom or her sisters. He used to be a bad apple, but I think some of his morals have changed, making him grow up a lot this past year, which makes me pretty proud of him. I don’t have a lot of memories from childhood, which really sticks, but I know us four kids used to run around the farm a lot. Running up the pile of rocks in the summer, and sledding down the pile of manure in the winter. One thing I remember that happened to Michael was that we were camping somewhere. Like the whole family. Our aunt had one of those pop up campers, and I don’t remember exactly what was going on, but I know that Michael got his hand caught in the door. Pretty sure it was my fault. It was something that he randomly brought up when we were all together over Christmas, and it’s nice that it’s something we remember, and can look back and laugh about! :)

No Michaels where I live but here are the few I know:
1. Michael Morpurgo, author. We had to read one of his books, Long Way Home, in middle school and I never hated a book more whilst reading it. But after finishing it, I actually ended up really liking the grown up themes.
2. My favourite song is You Rock My World by Michael Jackson.
3. Michael Burnham, the only female Michael that I know of :P

I have 2 co-workers named Michael. It’s very hard to tell which Michael someone is talking about or when we call for one of them they both turn. We have now started calling them by their last names.

I find it hard to just pick one Michael story because I feel like my life is full of Michaels. My current boss and a past supervisor were both named Michael. I had to teach my current boss Michael how to use Uber and Lyft and he got really excited that he jumps to request it first every time we have to travel for work.

I have a brother named Michael who was almost not named Michael, but named after my mother’s maiden name which is Bucklin. Instead that is his middle name and my brother likes to tell everyone they could have called him Bucky instead of having a common name!

I work at a clothing store, and one time I was helping this older man find a pair of jeans. He found some he wanted to try on. Instead of going to the fitting room he took off his pants in the middle of the store, and I just walked away because I didn’t know how to address the situation. His name was Michael.

Funnily enough, I’ve never met a Michael before. Maybe it’s not a very popular Australian name. But really, looking back on my 24 years of life – nope, not one Michael.

I’ve known a Michael in primary school and we weren’t even friends. So I don’t have a funny story about him, though he constantly tried to be funny in class :)

My cousin Michael (see it’s true everyone knows one) and I snuck into my grandmothers pasture, which we were restricted from going into, only to find a neighbors bull loose, angry and chasing us! We had to run and jump into a tree in order to not get hurt. Needless to say we stayed out of the pastures after this ?
