BLT ala Tasha
Sure you could make a BLT in 5 minutes. But it wont taste as good as mine.
You'll need:
- sourdough bread (2 slices)
- mayo
- butter
- bacon package
- maple syrup
- clean, washed + dried crunchy lettuce (about 3/4 cup)
- single small roma tomato sliced however thick you like it then season with salt + pepper
- single small Granny Smith apple sliced the same thickness as the roma tomato
Make the bacon first: (you will have leftovers)
Line a sheet pan with parchment paper. Line up bacon slices next to each other (you can overlap a little) put inside a COLD oven. once inside - turn the oven on to 400F and set a timer for 18 minutes. Take it out after 18 minutes and flip it. Drizzle maple syrup across and put it back in the oven for 2-4 minutes (watch it carefully. Everyone's oven is different, and bacon thickness varies etc etc. Take it out when they look done. Don't burn it. Unless you like burnt bacon. Some people do.)
Make the Toast ala Tasha:
On the stove, put a pan on medium heat and melt 1-2 tablespoons of butter (more for larger slices of bread. Enough to coat the pan without easily burning.)
Smear mayo with a butterknife across BOTH sides of each piece of bread until evenly coated. Now place in the pan with melted butter and fry both sides until a beautiful golden brown.
Assemble:
On a plate place your toast down. Lightly smear mayo on each piece of toast. On bottom piece of toast: layer lettuce, tomato, bacon and apple slices until you are satisfied with the amount. Place other piece of toast on top. Cut diagonally. If you cut it straight in half you will ruin it. You will probably have apple slices leftover.
