Thoroughbred Candle

I ordered 2 candles before Thanksgiving. It’s more than I would normally spend on a candle, but unique scent made it special. Both candles, Highlands & Thoroughbred, smelled very good. My only complaint is they were shipped in a padded envelope with a single layer of bubble wrap. The boxes were pretty damaged. Not acceptable for giftgiving. I messaged the seller & said she would mail out new boxes immediately. I waited weeks & did not receive them. I double checked that she sent them & she said she had. I had ordered other things from Etsy a week or two after that & receive those items so I’m not really sure what happened. Seller said that the shipping companies were doing a poor job not destroying packages. I think items should be shipped to more carefully. I ended up giving them without the boxes. I was disappointed in that.

Smells like a leather saddle

As expected. Not a great smell but I don’t like horses. Sister loved it tho.

When I was 8 my aunt had to hose me off in the polebarn because I slipped in horse pucky. The barn was where everyone stood to smoke Marlboro Reds and the cheap timber held that smell, and every once in a while a horse would be naughty and tip the giant bin of dry dog food, and that would become saturated with General Liquid Barn Filth as it was mashed into the mix of the mud. So I'm standing there covered in excrement, wincing against the freezing penny-sour hose water, standing on mildewed kibble, in a tinderbox infused with the scent of the only warm outdoor corner of a gas station, or perhaps a casino that specializes in dog poker. This candle is not that experience. This is when you go to an autumn barn wedding feeling giddy in your Amazon-ordered cowboy hat and are met with the fresh sweetness of cinnamon broomsticks and crafty haypiles and yes, horses, yes of course, and the earth of a well-maintained farm - it's pleasant, rugged, it makes you want to put on some boots, you feel out of doors and yet you've never been more inclined to stay at home.

Shipping was very fast and packaging was awesome. I did not care for the cinnamon scent at all, did not remind me of a horsey scent at all. Maybe more leather or saddle scent?!

My friend used to run a horse business and has traded that in for an office job. She said this was exactly how the barn smelled. Also shipping came in 2 business days earlier than estimated!

Not really what I was hoping for :( supposed to smell like "saddle, dirt, hay, and carrots" but the cinnamon and nutmeg scents are so overpowering. Smells more like a fall/wintery cinnamon scent than anything else.

This is the most unusual candle I have ever smelled. It smells EXACTLY like the tack room in a barn! It's homey, rugged, and weirdly pleasant! 10/10, will buy again!

The actress FLIPPED OUT, literally had wet eyes, when she opened the candle. She said the scent reminded her of "home", her stable and beloved horses. Natasha's candle was fantastic, and her customer service even more astonishingly wonderful. Just when you think that everyone in the world is "angry" and that people don't look out for each other anymore, you come across a shop, and folk, like this. I am extremely grateful and cannot recommend DioCandleCompany enough on every level of quality of product and genuine kindness.

I was honestly super excited for this one, but I was let down by the scent. I don't know if maybe I just got an off one, but I've had multiple people smell this and it doesn't smell like anything reminiscent of horses, barns, or leather tack to any of us...and we've been around horses a long time. It's an okay scent, but I expected a muskier, earthier, more leathery scent. It's just a bit bland for me, and the scent profile is muddled.

This candle smells exactly like what I expected given the name and description. The earthiness of the leather and dirt are perfectly complemented by the sweetness of the carrot and nutmeg. I only wish the throw was a bit stronger

when i sniffed this candle it felt like it freshly rained and i’m going out to get a horse from the paddock. it’s very earthy and smells great !

On your mark! Get set! Go...get this candle! Wow, this box may have been about beating the odds, but every single candle in here was a winner. Thoroughbred is a fun natural scent with hints of saddle, hay, dirt and carrots for the horses. I'm always so blown away by the uniqueness of the candles that Natasha and Mike come up with.

This candle definitely reminds me of horses and some (the good) smells I associate with them! It is a leathery kind of manly smell and it’s nice!

This is the perfect scent for the horse obsessed person in your life. The dirt, leather and carrots are such an earthy, comforting blend. This is pure nostalgia for me. Love it!

Cute label, great colour that matches the scent. I’ve been around rodeos, this candle reminds me of the scents mingling on a warm day. Great candle for anyone who loves earthy scents.

This candle packs a punch, but in the best way possible. I've never been to the races, but I can only imagine this is what it would smell like. Very earthy with that hint of sweetness (the carrot). Really love it.
